Social Media Content Developer for Village of Three Oaks Downtown Development District Marketing Plan

Project Overview: The Village of Three Oaks is seeking a highly creative and experienced Social Media Content Developer to support the marketing efforts for the Downtown Development District. This position will be a contract position starting in May 2025. The contractor will be responsible for planning, creating, shooting, and posting engaging social media content that promotes the businesses, people, and attractions of Three Oaks. The goal is to drive traffic to local businesses and enhance the visibility of the downtown area.

Scope of Work: The Social Media Content Developer will perform the following tasks:

  1. Content Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop a content calendar that aligns with the marketing goals of the Village of Three Oaks and its businesses.

    • Plan content themes and campaigns that focus on driving foot traffic into the businesses and increasing awareness of the community’s offerings.

    • Collaborate with local business owners to identify key products, events, or promotions to highlight.

  2. Content Creation & Production:

    • Create high-quality, engaging, and shareable content, including but not limited to:

      • Photography

      • Videography

      • Graphics & visuals for posts

      • Stories and reels for Instagram and Facebook

    • Plan and organize photo and video shoots, capturing the essence of Three Oaks businesses, events, and people.

    • Ensure that content is tailored for the unique style and audience of each platform (Instagram, Facebook).

    • Store in an orderly fashion all content photographed and created for the DDA on a shared drive.

  3. Posting & Engagement:

    • Regularly post content across Facebook and Instagram, ensuring consistency and relevance.

    • Schedule posts at optimal times to maximize engagement and reach.

    • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely manner.

    • Utilize social media tools to monitor metrics and make data-driven decisions about content performance.

  4. Collaboration & Community Building:

    • Foster collaboration with local businesses, influencers, and community members for content creation and cross-promotion.

    • Develop strategies for user-generated content and encourage community involvement.

  5. Analytics & Reporting:

    • Track social media metrics and report on the success of campaigns.

    • Analyze engagement rates, reach, and other key performance indicators to continuously improve content strategies.

    • Provide monthly reports to the Downtown Development District with actionable insights and suggestions.

Timeline:

  • Contract Position Start Date: May 2025

  • Expected End Date: Ongoing, with potential for contract renewal based on performance and project needs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in social media content creation, management, and strategy.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous work in photography, videography, and graphic design.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram.

  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and insights.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Creative mindset with a passion for community engagement.

  • Experience in working with local businesses or small-town marketing preferred.

Proposal Submission Requirements: Interested contractors should submit the following:

  1. A cover letter explaining why they are a good fit for the role.

  2. A portfolio of relevant work, including examples of photography, videography, and social media content.

  3. A proposed pricing structure for the services offered, including any packages or rates for content creation, posting, and analytics.

  4. A timeline or strategy for the first three months of content planning and execution.

  5. At least two references from previous clients or employers, ideally related to social media marketing or content development.

Submission Deadline: All proposals must be submitted by April 30, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

  • References and experience with similar projects.
